By: Jerry L. Woodland
Hi! This is Jerry!
You've stumbled upon my personal blog. Below is a book I wrote a few years ago, to help those in need of guidance. It's a collection of knowledge and an understanding, of thing's we all go through on a daily basis.
While contemplating on the problems within the world today! I decided to share some of the principle's that were instrumental in guiding me through some of my earlier years! Thinking, perhaps they'll help someone else, who may be struggling with drastic decisions, or curious and confused, of what to expect and be aware of, when dealing with those of a nefarious nature! Sometimes we feel as not to be so censorious and attentive to the characteristic's of others, but never-the-less! We must be realistic, and call it for what it is. There's 90 principle's total; You will agree with some, and with others, you might even disagree; I only ask that you keep an open mind! And feel free to debate and discuss them in detail with your love ones. So sit back, relax and get ready for a selfhelp, common sence approach, to lifes daily odstacles!
Let's get started!
1. A quote by Groucho Marx states:
One way to tell if a man is honest, is to ask him! And if he says yes! Then he must be crooked!
In other words:
Anything that seems too good to be true, usually is; generally, there's a hiden deceptive motive involved.
Some folks can look you in the eyes, smile and lie at the same time and never waiver; If you're ever propositioned, before you accept, ask yourself one question; If it's free to everyone! How in the world, are they making a profit? Therein, lies the key to their deception.
A good product, doesn't need to be sold, once it's introduced, it sell's itself!
2. A fool and his money, is soon parted:
Some people will be your friend, so long as your money last, and things are plentiful.
But You Should Notice!
How they only call or come around, when they need something from you; But after your money is gone, and things are no longer plentiful, they'll drop you, like a bad habbit.
" He's been dropped! Like a bad habbit "
This is the time, when you'll learn, who your true friends are.
3. There's good and evil people in the world right? ... I mean! Let's be real; Good people do good deeds because they enjoy the sensation you feel, when you help those that are in need. Then again, there are people who do bad deeds, simply for the sheer fact that ... they can. Therefore you should beware of those who will befriend you, merely to gain closeness and decieve you, or people who will tell you it's OK, Don't sweat it friend ... It's cool; or mayby! That's right pal; When in fact, it's not OK, It's never been cool, and deep down in your heart, you know it's wrong. There are causes and effects that follow every issue, good and bad, and you can be sure that, there will be consequences for your actions.
You know that person, thats always hanging around? They never want anything, but whenever you look up, there they are?
That's your true friend!Don't want anything from you! They merely desire, to be near you!
4. Knowing you to be a good natured person! Some people will try to take advantage of this!
They'll ask for your help! knowing, you're eager to help others.
Then once the ordeal has passed! They'll say!
You didn't help me at all! or, really, you were of no benefit to me,
You should reply! My intentions were only to be of help; and leave it at that.
Once you realize, this is the kind of character they are, and should they ever require your help again, {And they will!} What goes around, comes around!
You can draw upon this experience and say! I'm sorry: But I remember, that which was said the last time!
Therefore, I prefer not to get involved! Should they persist! Stand firm and repeat your reply! I prefer, not to get involved.

9.Some people choose to alienate all those around them, and never consider the feelings of others!
Many have a difficult time getting along with eachother, and are unsure of whether It's them or their companion, who's placing a strain on their relationship. A good way to tell, is to notice your feelings and reactions to the things you say and do, when you're all alone, and there's no one there but you. Do you feel bored with yourself? If you do, then that's probably an Issue you need to address. Remember all those hateful things you said? Now! Flip the script! How would you feel, If your companion had said that to you? Don't look to someone else to fix your character; That's your job; Learn to be comfortable with yourself, and consider the feelings of others, Because! Once it becomes apparent, that you only consider yourself, everyone within your life and everything around you, begins to fade, out of your life!
The moral of this principle is! Don't be selfish, consider others.

Try viewing things from afar, as someone with no interest would.
14. If the only guidance and example available, to patern your character after, happens to be one of a negative consciousness! Then it's almost certain, that you are destined to walk in their shoes.
Meaning:
If they're rude and selfish! Then chances are, you'll be rude and selfish as well, and the sad thing is, you may not even realize it; Whenever you're requesting the assistance of someone else, it's customary to say please; And should they agree to help you, it's also customary to say thank you, before and after.
This character flaw is inevitable; Unless they take a real hard look at their attitude and make a change!
Chances are this will never happen, because People practically never fix, that they believe not to be broken.
Most believe, If it's not broken, why fix it! Even though it's very clear, that there's room for an attitude adjustment!
If you're contemplating on how you should proceed, before you do, ask yourself two questions:
1. How would it make me feel to be treated in this manner?
And
2. What gives me the right to treat anyone this way?

Bare in mind, that however bad you may think you have it, there are a million other people who have it far worst; some who even focus on solutions.
34. Lets say you've met someone, and the two of you have become very close.
They haven't attempted to wrong you, nor have they leaped at an opportunity to decieve or betray you in any way.
Instead: They've been there to walk with you through all the troubled times; often they've came to your defence, and they are willing to share the good and bad times with you; It's very likely, that this is the begining of a beautiful friendship, and you should grasp at the opportunity, to bond with this person, as soon as possible; More than likely, this is someone who will eat, sleep, fight, cry, love and die with you! And they'll never harm you!
35. There's something we can learn from every situation, {the good and the bad}, the good teaches us how we want to be, and set's a good example for us!
On the other hand: the bad teaches us, how we should not be, and set's an example for us also.
Even if you have experienced or are familiar with the situation, you should learn something, because things will never happen the same way twice. So from every situation, you should extrapolate the good characteristic's, and take heed of the bad.

Some people, spend an entire life time and never get to know who they really are.
Ponder this my good man, or woman:
If you don't know who you are! How can you love yourself! And if you don't love yourself! How, can you expect someone else to love you.
While you're young, sometimes it can seem that you have all the time in the world.
But if you look up and thirty years have elapsed, and you've made no attempts to understand these things; You look around and forty years have gone by just like that, or you look back to reminisce, fifty years have passed; You say to yourself! If you intentionally avoid the simple miracles of life {Such As Starting A Family With Someone Who Truly Adores You}, for materialistic things!

Are You Feeling Influenced?
Recently a young lady contacted me, and we had a discussion regarding influence; She expressed the fact that there is someone with in her life that she truly admires, but whenever this person comes around, they have nothing good to say about another person that has been a friend to her longer; And that she feels influenced to terminate that friendship for the sake of remaining fiends with them, and she feels that they are trying to influence her that it's more than just that, friendship; Said she's not sure how to respond. I told her that there are probably millions of people with the same dilemma, and with her permission, I'd like to place the discussion on my website
Then I stated that you should be cautious of those whom would ask you, directly or indirectly, to sacrifice a long standing friendship for the sake of their friendship, because once you lose a friend, More often than not, it's gone forever; This person is not your true friend; No matter how sincere their intentions may appear. Chances are, this is someone with a hidden agenda; Most often this occurs with older people, because older people might have hang-up's that they have never been able to overcome; And sometimes even with younger people too, whom are easily influenced.

:The Topic Of This Story Is Regarding Being Rich:
Just ask, and most people would define being rich as having lot's of money and material thing's.
However!
It is my belief that, if you're sad, lonely and depressed, money or material things won't change that; On the other hand, if you're happy with yourself, you give love, you accept it back, and you understand the value of sharing and caring for others; Well then! There are people that have all the money and material thing's they will ever need, whom would trade every ounce of it, for just a minute of what you have, so that they too can experience, being rich.

If you experience constant thought's of these characteristic's; Then needless to say that among other Issue's, you're distracting yourself from the positive aspects of life; From love, happiness, and yes, even your creativity; Whether you realize it or not, these negative character traits are being imprinted, onto your subconscious mind; when you least expect it, these negative character traits will come out; Often in your speech, perhaps while you're in the midst of others; {Ponder This: Wouldn't you like to discover that one thing, in which you do better than anything else, early in life?} It's very difficult to obtain wealth, If you can't see yourself being rich; Either you're progressing or you're regressing {Going Forwards or Backwards}, there are no in betweens; Once you reach the level of experience and maturity, your age has no bearing on what you say, or do; You should be able to debate anything, with anyone. Carefully monitor your thought's; Always try to think positive; Think of the glass as being half full, rather than half empty; Whenever anything happens, consider it simply a part of life; Acknowledge it, rectify it, or adapt to it, then move on; Don't mentally harbor negativity. These are the measure's you must maintain in order that you have a rich and healthy mentality!
Something To Think About!
